Meizu M3 Note launched in India for Rs. 9999

Meizu today launched their next handset the Meizu M3 Note in the Indian markets for Rs. 9,999. This handset houses the MediaTek Helio P10 octa core processor and is running FlyMe OS over a 5.5 inch screen with FHD resolution.

It is powered by MediaTek Helio P10 64 bit octa core processor ARM cortex A53 x 4 (core) clocked at 1.8GHz + ARM cortex A53 x 4 (core) clocked at 1GHz.  GPU is Mali T860. There is 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage. This is a dual SIM handset with hybrid slot (nano/nano+micro SD), users can use micro SD card of up to 128GB.
Touch screen is 5.5 inches (with 2.5D curved glass) supporting 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution. Screen also comes with T2X-1 glass protection. There is a 13MP primary camera on the rear with f/2.2 aperture and 5MP camera on the front with f/2.0 aperture.
Note 3 also supports 4G (with VoLTE), 3G, 2G, GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth and finger print sensor (mTouch 2.1) that can unlock in 0.2 seconds.  A 4100 mAh battery powers up this handset that should easily give over 24 hours of mixed usage time.

Transcend launches Industrial grade SuperMLC UHS-I speed class 1 microSD cards

Transcend has launched Industrial grade SuperMLC UHS-I class 1 (U1) micro SD card that is cost effective and its performance is almost similar to SLC NAND flash. The pricing details has not yet been revealed but as per the company it will come with an affordable price tag.
Sequential write speed of this new UHS-I SuperMLC is 2x faster than MLC flash chips – it can achieve write speed of up to 95MB/s and temperature tolerance is -40 degree C to 85 degree C making this a perfect option for surveillance, Medical and POS terminals.
These microSD cards are also up to 10 time more durable than MLC NAND flash. Transcend SuperMLC microSD cards come with two years limited warranty and will be available in 4, 8, 16 and 32 GB storage options.
The Price? Well not yet disclosed.

Intex Cloud Fame 4G smartphone for Rs. 3999

Intex Mobiles launched a low cost handset called the Intex Cloud Fame that houses a quad core processor, is running Marshmallow and comes with 4G support, all this for just Rs. 3,999. This device is available on Snapdeal.

This is a dual SIM handset with 4G support packed with 1GB RAM and 8GB of internal storage space. It is running Marshmallow 6.0 out of the box. Cloud Fame is powered by Quad core processor clocked at 1GHz (chipset unknown).
Screen is 4.5 inches supporting 854  x480 pixels resolution and it is protected with Gorilla Glass 3. When it comes to the camera there is a 5MP shooter on the rear and on the front it's a 2MP shooter. Key features are 4G LTE, 3G, 2G, GPS, WiFi and Bluetooth.  A 1800 mAh battery powers up this handset.

Xiaomi Mi Max launched in China starting from RMB 1499

Xiaomi today at an event in China launched the Xiaomi Mi Max handset with a big screen of 6.4 inches. This handset will be available in three variants and the pricing starts from RMB 1499 that comes to approx Rs. 15,300.

Xiaomi Mi Max Features and specifications

Mi Max is a dual SIM handset – hybrid slot (micro SIM + micro SD or nano SIM).  It sails on MIUI 8 based on Android Marshmallow 6.0. You can get it with 3GB RAM + 32ROM or 64GB ROM and another variant is with 4GB RAM and 128GB ROM. Both these variants also support micro SD card.
Screen as mentioned is of size 6.44 inches with 2.5D curved glass and supporting 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution. Xiaomi Mi Max comes powered with Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 hexa core processor and other variant is with Snapdragon 652 octa core processor.
There is 16MP primary PDAF camera with f/2.0 aperture and dual tone LED flash support. Front wide angle camera is of 5MP resolution. Handset weight is 203 grams with 4850 mAh battery. Other features are 4G LTE with VoLTE support, 3G, 2G, GPS, WiFi (Dual Band), BT 4.1, infrared sensor and finger print sensor.
Snapdragon 650 powered Xiaomi M Max with 3GB RAM, 32GB ROM is priced at RMB 1499 (approx Rs. 15K). The same thing with 64GB storage and with Snapdragon 652 chipset is priced at RMB 1699 (approx Rs. 17K).
Snapdragon 652 powered Mi Max with 4GB RAM and 128GB ROM is priced at RMB 1999 (approx Rs. 20k).

Lenovo Z1 ZUK launched for Rs. 13499

Lenovo has launched the Z1 ZUK for Rs. 13,499. This handset was initially launched in China. It is snapdragon 801 quad core powered running Cyanogen OS out of the box. Z1 comes with 3GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage space.
Though the handset is using an outdated hardware if priced right it is still a good handset. ZUK Z1 is powered by 2.5GHz MSM8974PRO AC quad core processor with Adreno 330 GPU.
Screen is 5.5 inches supporting FHD resolution. There is 3GB RAM, 64GB ROM but there is no micro SD card support. There are dual SIM slots you can use 2 nano SIMs. Camera is also really good – a 13MP with dual tone LED flash on the back and 8MP fixed focus on the front. Rear camera can shoot FHD videos and the hardware in general can play 4K videos.
Other features are 4G, 3G, 2G, USB Type C port, finger print sensor, WiFi and Bluetooth. This handset gets power from a 4100 mAh battery.

Samsung Galaxy J7 2016 and J5 2016 launched starting from Rs. 13990

Samsung Mobiles today launched the Galaxy J7 2016 and the Galaxy J5 2016 from the Galaxy J series. The Samsung Galaxy J7 2016 is priced at Rs. 15,990 and the Samsung Galaxy J5 2016 comes for Rs. 13,990.

Samsung Galaxy J5 2016 features and specifications

This handset houses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 quad core processor clocked at 1.2GHz with Adreno 306 GPU. It sports a 5.2 inch (good news it's with a Super AMOLED display) and with a good resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels.
The Galaxy J5 runs on Android 6 with 2GB RAM and 16GB ROM and 128GB  micro SD card support. Weight is 159 grams with 3100 mAh battery. A 13MP camera with a f/1.9 aperture is on the back and on the front there is a 5MP camera with front LED flash.
Other features are 4G LTE, 3G, 2G, GPS, WiFi and Bluetooth. Dual SIM Samsung Galaxy J5 2016 is priced at Rs. 13,990.

Samsung Galaxy J7 2016 features and specifications

This handset is powered by Samsung Exynos 7870 1.6GHz octa core processor.  J7 2016 sports a 5.5 inch super AMOLED screen. Screen resolution is 720 pixels.
Android 6 (marshmallow) runs out of the box with 2GB RAM, 16GB ROM and 128GB micro SD card support. A 13Mp camera is on the back and a 5MP on the front. Both front and back cameras come with LED flash support.
Weight with 3300 mAh battery is 170 grams and thickness is 7.8mm. Other features are 4G LTE, 3G, 2G, GPS, NFC, WiFi (dual band) and BT 4.1.
Dual SIM Samsung Galaxy J7 2016 is priced at Rs. 15,990. The J7 2016 also come with Bike Mode as seen on Galaxy J3 smartphone.
These handsets will be available on Flipkart, starting at midnight with double data offers from from Airtel.

Micromax Canvas XP 4G with 3GB RAM launched for Rs. 7499

Micromax today launched the Canvas XP 4G a quad core smartphone for a price tag of Rs. 7,499. This is also the first handset from Micromax to come with 3GB RAM + 4G support and more for under Rs. 8K. It will be available exclusively on Snapdeal from 10th May 2016.

This is a dual SIM handset running Lollipop 5.1 over a 5 inch IPS screen with 1280 x 720 pixels resolution. Canvas XP 4G is powered by a quad core processor clocked at 1GHz – chipset has not yet been disclosed.
This smartphone is packed with 3GB RAM and 16GB internal storage (ROM). There is micro SD card support too. In terms of camera, there is a 8MP camera on the back with LED flash support using OmniVision sensor and on the front there is a 2MP fixed focus camera.
Other features are 4G LTE, 3G, 2G, GPS, WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0. XP 4G gets power from a 2000 mAh battery.
Micromax Canvas XP 4G will be available on Snapdeal, exclusively starting tomorrow for Rs. 7,499.

Asus may launch Zenfone 3 at Zenvolution event on 30th May 2016

On 30th of May 2016, Asus at an already announced Zenvolution event may unveil their new handsets – Zenfone 3 in the Zenfone series. The event is schedules in Taipei and it will be live streamed – starts from 2PM CST (GMT 6:00).
The Zenfone 3 handsets were listed in some benchmark apps in January 2016. It's the new Zenfone 3 – Z010DD and the Z012D, some of the specs have already been leaked, though nothing official yet. The company may announce 2 handsets in the Zenfone series.
As per rumors the Zenfone 3 might sport a 5.9 inch screen with 1280 x 720 pixels resolution. It may use the Snapdragon 615 octa core chipset coupled with 32GB ROM and 3GB RAM. The other handset could be powered by Snapdragon 650 hexa core with the same 32GB ROM and 3GB RAM but sporting  5.5 inch screen with 720p resolution.Also expected is a USB Type C port, finger print sensor, aluminum frame, dual LED flash (for front / rear camera), 5MP camera on the front and 12MP camera on the rear.
Let's wait for the official work, Zenfone 3 unveiling on 30th May 2016.
