7 Most important things about Nvidia Graphic GTX 1080 you should know Posted: 18 May 2016 08:48 AM PDT Earlier this month NVIDIA announced there new flagship GeForce card, GeForce GTX 1080 video card. The GeForce GTX 1080 is the first 16nm/14nm-based video card. Unlike previous launches NVIDIA, the company is lifting their performance and architecture embargo today. However the game lovers will have to wait till 27th – next Friday – with pre-order sales starting this Friday. Before that have a look some interesting things about Nvidia Graphic GTX 1080. Comparison between GTX 1080 vs GTX 980 Ti vs GTX 980 vs GTX 780
1. More FasterThe Pascal introduced in GeForce GTX 1080 which makes it smaller 16nm FinFET architecture. With the new processor NVIDIA has managed to insert 7.2 billion transistors into the Nvidia GTX 1080. The GPU is equipped with 20 streaming multi-processor, each having 128 cores. It has 2560 CUDA cores, 20 geometry units, 160 texture units, 64 ROP units and 8GB of GDDR5X video RAM (operating at 10GBps) to top it all off. All these specs get together, makes it to operate over 2Ghz clock speed. 2. Fast SyncBefore these Nvidia had introduced G-Sync to make frame rate more smoother and introduced Fast sync in GeForce GTX 1080 to eliminate tearing completely. The Fast Sync checks every frame to make it smoother. Nvidia claims its triple buffer process reduces latency by 60 milliseconds in Counter Strike GO. Fast Sync is necessary for games with much faster refresh rates. Fast Sync makes it more compatible for game lovers. 3. Piscal ArchitectureNvidia has introduced piscal architecture to deal with processor best performance. The GeForce GTX 1080 works in a new dynamic mode in which it will call on the CPU to perform more tasks if there's a gap at all and vice-versa. Its' a smarter use of resources to fill what Nvidia calls dead space and it leads to 15-20% increase in frames per second. Nvidia has also provided the preemption abilities with asynchronous time warp which will help you to experience incredible VR. The GPU will adjust the images according to your head, how you move. 4. GPU Boost 3.0Nvidia has made boosting the clock speed more easier and efficient. It is very helpful for overclockers. If you feel sometime impatient with the performance, GPU Boost 3.0 can add overclocking scanner support, making it work better with overclocking software. In addition to this soon Nvidia will going to release new SLI bridges which will be necessary for game at 4K and 144fps but this will work with only pascal architecture.
