YU Yureka Note launched for Rs.13,499

Micromax-backed YU has today launched a new phablet in India called the Yureka Note. The phablet was leaked online yesterday, and everything we came across is in line with today's launch. The Yureka Note with its 6-inch display is priced at Rs 13,499. A thing to note is unlike previous YU smartphones that were sold online only, the new Yureka Note is going on sale today on mobile stores as well.YU says its new Yureka Note is aimed at users wanting a great multimedia and gaming experience. It features a polycarbonate body with a metallic frame. It also boasts two mics, and dual speakers with NXP, as well as a fingerprint scanner at the back. The company says that the sensor is fast enough to unlock the device in only 0.5 seconds.
YU Yureka Note Specifications, features: The new phablet flaunts a 6-inch full HD (1920×1080 pixels) display with 367ppi protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It is powered by MediaTek's MT6753T octa-core processor paired with 3GB of RAM, and also offers 16GB internal storage, which can be further expanded using a microSD card.
The Yureka Note also features a 13-megapixel rear camera with PDAF and dual-LED flash, 5-megapixel selfie camera with wide angle lens, and a 4,000Ah battery with Quick Charging support. Connectivity options include dual-SIM card slots, 4G LTE support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and micro-USB with OTG support. On the software front, it runs on Android Lollipop 5.1.1.
At this price point, the new Yureka Note will face competition from the likes of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3, LeEco Le 1s and the Lenovo K4 Note to name a few. Check out the comparison table below to see how they compare.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 now getting Marshmallow update

Good news for Samsung Galaxy Note 4 users in India, the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update has been rolled out. This will be an OTA (Over the Air) update, make sure to take a backup of your data before upgrading.Some of you might have already got the update notification, if you haven't you will get it within few days / weeks. The Android Marshmallow version 6.0.1 file size is around 1.4GB. Better use a WiFi connection to download the file.
When installing make sure the battery level is over 75%. These updates take time. It would be wise not to interrupt the update process, once initiated. The update should bring more stability and improve battery backup. Users will also get a new TouchWiz interface.In case after the update some apps are not working, you can try re-installing those particular app. If the handset becomes unstable or you are facing a lot of issues, you can try the factory reset as a last option. If that works great, if not then visit the service center.

Gionee Pioneer P5 Mini quad core 3G smartphone launched for ₹5349

Another quad core powered handset the Gionee Pioneer P5 Mini got listed and available on the Gionee India website with a price tag of ₹5,349. This handset sports a smaller screen of 4.5 inches, sails on Lollipop and supports 3G networks.

Pioneer P5 Mini is a dual SIM handset that houses a Quad core processor clocked at 1.3GHz (chipset unknown). Android 5.1 + Amigo 3.1 runs the show with 1GB RAM, 8GB ROM (2.7GB free) and 128GB micro SD card support.
This smartphones is 9.1mm thick and sports a 4.5 inch IPS screen with Asahi protection and supporting FWVGA – 854 x 480 pixels resolution. On the rear side you will find a 5MP camera with flash (AF or FF not clearly specified – most likely it could be fixed focus). Front facing camera is of 2MP resolution.
Key features are 3G, 2G, WiFi, Face Unlock, GPS and Bluetooth 4.0. The 1850 mAh battery as per the company gives up to 9 hours of talk time on 3G networks.
