Reliance Jio’s LYF Flame 1 4G smartphone with VoLTE and VoWiFi launched

Posted: 09 Feb 2016 11:41 AM PST

After launching the LYF Earth 1, LYF Water 1, and the LYF Water 2, Reliance Digital has quietly launched the first smartphone in its Flame series. The LYF Flame 1 is an entry-level smartphone, and it is listed on the Reliance Digital website, with a price tag of Rs 6,490. As with all the LYF smartphones, the LYF Flame 1 too will be available at Reliance Digital's Offline stores. You can also choose the on-demand shopping app Grofers to have the smartphone delivered at your doorsteps.
LYF Flame 1 specifications and features: The smartphone flaunts a 4.5-inch FWVGA (854×480 pixels) display, and is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 210 quad-core processor clocked at 1.1GHz. It also includes 1GB of RAM, and 8GB internal storage, which can be expanded using a microSD card.On the photography front, it is equipped with a 5-megapixel rear camera, as well as a 5-megapixel selfie camera. It also features a FM Radio, and a 2,000mAh battery that the company claims is good enough for up to five hours of HD video playback and up to 22 hours of audio playback.
Connectivity options include dual-SIM card slots, 4G LTE support, VoLTE, VoWiFi, and Bluetooth 4.0. On the software front, it runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop. For the sort of specifications and features on offer, the LYF Flame 1 price tag seems to be a tad steep. In comparison, the likes of Micromax Canvas Xpress 4G, Xiaomi Redmi 2 Prime, and the YU Yunique among others offer much more like better display, processor, and even cameras. But what is important here is the fact that the LYF smartphones offer features like VoLTE and VoWiFi that make them future-proof.
