Xiaomi MIUI 7.1 update being rolled out Posted: 06 Jan 2016 09:08 AM PST Xiaomi has started rolling out MIUI 7.1 Global stable version on Mi devices (Mi 3/4/4i, Redmi Note 4G/2/Prime/1S/Note Prime/Note 2/ Note 3 and on Xiaomi Mi Pad. The update will be gradually rolled out and will happen over the air (OTA update).You will get a notification or you can try checking manually. Before updating make sure to keep battery level at the max. The new update MIUI Version 7.1 comes with a lot of enhancements. MIUI 7.1 has been optimized for better performance. Data saver feature comes built in. Several bugs have been fixed. Home screen has been enhanced and optimized. The music player now has added support for Mi Piston earbuds. Private folder option has been added into the file explorer app. Calendar and Browser have been optimized for better performance.Mi Drop a new feature will allow users to easily transfer files between phones. Asus Zenfone Zoom Launch on 22nd January Posted: 06 Jan 2016 09:06 AM PST Asus had previously announced that they will be launching the Zenfone Zoom soon, and as of now they have revealed the launch date. The Asus Zenfone Zoom will be launched in Agra on 22nd January 2016.The Asus Zenfone Zoom is a quad core powered smartphone using the Intel Atom 64 bit processor. This smartphone sports a 5.5 inch FHD screen. It is running Lollipop with 4GB RAM and optional 64GB or 128GB of internal storage space. There is micro SD card support too. The main attraction however is the 13MP camera using HOYA Lens. This camera supports 12X total zoom with 3X optical zoom. The front camera is of 5MP resolution. Key features are 4G, 3G, GPS, Bluetooth and WiFi. LeTV Le Max Pro with snapdragon 820 announced at CES 2016 Posted: 06 Jan 2016 09:04 AM PST LeTV unveiled their next power packed smartphone the Le Max Pro at CES 2016. This smartphone is also the first one to be powered by the Snapdragon 820 (quad-core Kryo CPU) 64 bit chipset coupled with Adreno 530 GPU. There is no word about the price or the exact launch date.LeTV Le Max Pro is a dual SIM handset with a weight of about 204 grams and 8.9mm thickness. This smartphone sports a 6.33 inch screen with Quad HD resolution (2560 x 1440 pixels). EUI with Android Lollipop runs the show. There is 4GB of DDR4 RAM and 64GB of internal storage. When it comes to the camera the Le Max Pro is packed with a 21MP primary camera using SONY IMX230 sensor with a f/2.0 aperture and front facing camera is 4MP using Omnivision OV4688 sensor.Additional features are 4G LTE, 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, NFC, USB Type C port, MHL 3.0, LeHiFi and finger print scanner with qualcomm sense ID (capacitive touch based sensor that are more accurate).LeTV Le Max Pro gets power from a 3400 mAh battery. Both these notebooks are powered by Intel Celeron processor and is running Windows 10 64 bit out of the box. Asus EeeBook E402MA houses the Intel Dual Core N2840 processor clocked at (up to) 2.5GHz with Intel HD graphics 4000 GPU. 64 Bit Windows 10 is running with 2GB on board memory and 32GB EMMC (internal storage). Oppo F1 to be unveiled on 28th January 2016 Posted: 06 Jan 2016 08:59 AM PST Oppo Mobiles will be launching the Oppo F1 handset, the first in the new 'F' Series. The key highlight about the F1 smartphone is that it is made to shoot better, premium quality photos. The camera centric F1 will be a mid range device.According to the company more handsets in the F series will be rolled out in 2016. Oppo has started sending invites for the January 28th event. F1 details are not yet confirmed and neither have the company revealed much. It is expected to sport a 5.5 inch screen with 720p resolution. Maybe qualcomm snapdragon 616 chipset (64 bit octa core), running Lollipop with 2GB RAM and 16GB ROM. Most likely packed inside a metal body and loaded with 13MP primary camera and a 5MP secondary camera. The F1 will support 4G as that is the latest trend. The event as of now is over and attendees are experiencing the unveiled products. At the event LeTV unveiled – LeMe Bluetooth Headset it's light weight, sleek and features world's first teardrop design. – Super Cycle – it is self powered, internet enabled, Cycle OS built in and it comes with 8400 mAh battery that charges as you pedal. – Le 3D Helmet that sports a 5.5 inch LCD screen (2K resolution, Sharp make). This offers stunning visual experience as if you are viewing content in a cinema from 8th row. As per the LeTV forum, the next launch event will happen on 20th January, not sure why they are launching the rest of the devices on 20th – For sure the LeTV smartphone will be announced on 20th Jan.Anyway, some products were announced today and on 20th (even day) the other products will be announced, so stay tuned. This Android Wear powered watch is listed and available on Flipkart for ₹11,999 with rubber strap and for ₹14,999 with leather Straps. The Asus Smartwatch watch is dust and water resistant (IP67 certified).Asus ZenWatch 2 with the rubber strap comes with a slightly bigger AMOLED screen of 1.63 inches supporting 320 x 320 pixels resolution. The one with the leather strap sports a 1.45 inch AMOLED screen with 280 x 280 pixels resolution. These 2.5D touch screen are protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The update is being rolled out via OTA on Moto G 3rd Gen XT 1550. Moto G 3rd Gen users might have already got the notification and in case if you haven't you will need to wait for few more days / weeks as the roll-out happen in a phased manner. This is an OTA – over the air update, you will need to download the files that will be installed automatically. Make sure to use a good net connection.
