Posted: 09 Jun 2016 12:01 PM PDT

LeEco made its entry into the Indian market earlier this year by launching the Le 1s and Le Max smartphones. The company recently announced that it had managed to sell 500,000 units in the first 100 days. Today, the Chinese company launched the next-generation Le 2 in India. The smartphone is priced at Rs 11,999, and it will be going on sale on Flipkart and the company's lemall.com. There is however no word on the availability.
LeEco launched the Le 2 in China back in April this year, and it flaunts a unibody metal design with chamfered edges. One of the smartphone's notable aspects is how LeEco has ditched the 3.5mm audio jack and has instead opted for a USB Type-C port.
The smartphone also features Continual Digital Lossless Audio (CDLA) technology, which the company says enables the users to experience digital lossless audio, by reducing signals susceptible to interference caused by unstable sound experience. LeEco is not only bundling a pair of USB Type-C compatible headset, but also an adaptor, which is useful for your standard headsets.
LeEco Le 2 Specifications, features: It flaunts a 5.5-inch full HD (1920×1080 pixels) display, and is powered by a 1.8GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 octa-core processor paired with 3GB of RAM. Also on offer is 32GB internal memory, but with no microSD card slot you won't be able to expand the storage.
On the photography front, the Le 2 is equipped with a 16-megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, PDAF and LED flash. Up front, there is an 8-megapixel selfie camera with 1.4μm large pixels. The smartphone boasts a fingerprint scanner placed below the rear camera, which not only unlocks the screen but also offers an added layer of security.
The specifications sheet also includes a 3,000mAh battery with fast charging support, and connectivity options like dual-SIM card slots, 4G with VoLTE support, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, GPS, and Bluetooth 4.1. On the software front, it runs on Android Marshmallow 6.0 wrapped under EUI 5.8.
LeEco has also bundled the smartphone with its content membership program, which was introduced with the Le 1s Eco. This membership is priced at Rs 490 per month or Rs 4,900 per year, and users get access to over 2,000 movies in 10 languages, over 100 live TV channels, more than 3.5 million songs in 25 languages, live streaming of concerts and 5TB personal cloud storage space.

LeEco Le Max2 with Snapdragon 820 SoC, 4GB RAM launched in India

Posted: 09 Jun 2016 11:57 AM PDT

At its 2Future event in Delhi, along with the LeEco Le 2, the company also launched the Le Max 2 phablet in India. One of the key highlights of these smartphones is the full metal unibody design, Qualcomm's Sense ID ultrasonic fingerprint scanner at the back and the USB Type-C audio port. It runs on the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow-based EUI 5.5 OS. While the LeEco Le 2 is priced at Rs 11,999, the Le Max2 will set you back by Rs 22,999.
LeEco has also launched the other variant with 6GB of RAM and 64GB onboard storage, which will set you back by Rs 29,999. The phablet will be available starting June 28 on Flipkart and LeEco's LeMall.com. The company has also announced USB Type-C CDLA headphones for Rs 1,990. The USB Type-C port works as data transfer and charging port, and as an audio output port too. It replaces the age old 3.5mm audio jack that is most common on all smartphones today. LeEco has worked to add CDLA (Continual Digital Loseless Audio) technology to offer users with high-quality uncompressed audio listening experience.
LeEco says, it has designed a customized decoder, which is present in the headphone, rather than on a smartphone. Every pair of the headphone has a unique ID to offer seamless listening experience. The company also says the audio via CDLA sounds finer than the Hi-Fi audio.
LeEco Le Max 2 Specifications and features: The Le Max2 phablet sports a 5.7-inch QHD (2560×1440 pixels) SuperRetina display with pixel density of 515ppi. It is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820 quad-core processor clocked at 2.15GHz and paired with Adreno 530 GPU and 4GB of RAM. For shutterbugs, the phablet comes equipped with a 21-megapixel rear camera of aperture f/2.0 with PDAF, OIS and dual tone dual LED flash. Up front is an 8-megapixel camera for selfies and video calling.
With 32GB of onboard storage, the phablet is armed with a 3,100mAh battery and Quick Charge 3.0 feature for fast charging. Connectivity options on the phablet include Wi-Fi 802.11ac, 4G LTE, VoLTE, Bluetooth and GPS. The Sense ID 3D fingerprint scanner with ultrasonic technology for biometric access even works with sweaty fingers.
At its price point, the Le Max2 will directly take on Xiaomi's Mi 5 which is priced at Rs 24,999 and OnePlus 2, priced at Rs 22,999 for 64GB storage variant. The Xiaomi Mi 5 is equipped with a 5.15-inch full HD (1080p) display, Snapdragon 820 SoC, 3GB of RAM and 32GB onboard storage. The OnePlus 2, on the other hand, features a 5.5-inch full HD display, Snapdragon 810 SoC, 4GB of RAM and 64GB onboard storage. Purely going by specifications, the LeEco LeMax 2 has a clear advantage over its competitors. However, we will reserve our judgment until we review the smartphone.
The Le Max2 will also come bundled with the company's content membership program that it announced with the launch of Le 1s Eco. Priced at Rs 490 per month and Rs 4,900 per year, it gives users an access to various content based services on the go. Members get an access to stream more than 2,000 movies in 10 different languages, over 3.5 million songs in 25 different languages and more than 100 live TV channels. Members also get 5TB of personal cloud storage, discounts on live streaming of concerts and exclusive after sales service.
